A theatredelicatessen production

Written and Directed by Roland Smith
Musical Direction by Candida Caldicot
Design by Ruth Sutcliffe

"Do you think this is what she would have wanted? For us? For her family? For the daughter
that she brought into the world at the cost of her own life? To be trapped here,
surrounded by nothing but jeers and laughter, no more than a bawd, making
a living more from the rooms above than the stage below?"

Sitting in a dark corner the last cabaret in the city, the Duke is plotting a celebration of his fifteenth year on the throne. Mistress Quickly, the infamous drag queen and her two daughters take to the stage, hoping that somewhere in the audience is a man with money who will offer them a life beyond the bar downstairs and the guest room above. Meanwhile, the youngest daughter Elle waits on tables and dreams of nothing more than being given the chance to sing before the Duke.

In their final production at Cavendish Gate (295 Regent Street), theatredelicatessen invite the audience to enter the twilight world of the Cavendish Club, for their new cabaret musical inspired by the story of Cinderella.

For six nights only:
3rd, 5th, 6th, 9th, 10th & 12th December 2008.
