The Lab Collective: Matador/Bullpen
Ground Floor
MATADOR:
The death knell is sounding for the last trader standing; come and see the Matador perform his swan song. A beautiful apology or an arrogant claim, the solo Matador stands proud in a crumbling arena, but there is still time to sell the bricks for scrap.Performed by Neil Connolly. Directed by Joseph Thorpe and Natalie Scott.
BULLPEN:
Our modern civilisation should sit on the shoulders of economic brilliance. A wonderful ideal. In reality it is a stampede instigated by the selfish desire to be a winner. Come, play a game which gives you a taste of trading.
Choose your team and play out a grand match of chance and skill, to test your resolve in the dangerous world of the market. Two teams will battle it out to extract their last ounce of competitive spirit in the ring.
The participants will be trained by elite corporate players, pulled through their high life stories and exposed to their brutal attitudes. Are you game?
Performed by Lauren McCullum, Christopher Jenner Cole, Sophie Carmicheal, Matthew Haigh, Amy Clarke, and Rob Lyndon. Directed by Joseph Thorpe and Natalie Scott.
The Lab Theatre Collective was formed in 2007, and creates theatre which transcends forms. We work across disciplines to stimulate the development of performance, challenging the audience with an active and vivid experience. Recent performances have taken place at the Gladstone Hotel Toronto, The Roundhouse Studios and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
